I went down to Uwharrie today, and rode every trail, some of them more than once. I thought all of the trails looked pretty much the same as last fall. No major changes, or 'paving' was noticed. The only major thing that i noticed was the rebuilding of the water berms. They had been noticeably rebuilt, and seemed larger. I predict there is going to be at least one rollover this w/e on Daniel. There is a fairly large hole behind the second ledge that is going to throw someone over on their passenger side.

did it draw you up pretty good?

No, but my Samurai is very low to the ground and fairly wide with 2" BS wheels. It can lean over a fair amount farther before it will flop. Tall and narrow rigs are going to have problems at that spot though.

The Saw Mill trail is unchanged. We kept expecting to come up on the 'new shorter' section, but it never happened. I guess it isn't ready to be opened yet.

The ledges and hill climbs on Daniel are untouched from last year. The sort of off camber hill before the first ledge with the tree on the left that gets a lot of folks back driver side windows is also untouched from last year, and maybe worse from rain runoff.

Will said he was "uncomfortable" when you hit that hole on Daniel. ;)

haha, yeah, he said his old spring over Sami would have probably rolled at that spot. The advantages of a spring under Samurai!:driver:

thx for update. any good action ....... last time I was there a bunch of not so built rigs were really putting on a show. I had a better time watching.

no, not much. There were a lot more people there than I expected, but most of them seemed to be setting up camp. We didn't run into very many people on the trail. We saw one guy in an XJ blow a u-joint at the kodak rock area.

How did Kodak look compared to last year?

I'd say just a little more dirt washed away around the rocks is all making them grow a little, lol.

I'll be posting a video later of me the second ledge and as get to the top you can here my wife say "I told him about that hole" as it about stops me in my tracks.

i think Danny means the first ledge.
If you are talking about the hole on the right side that puts you against the birm, then yes. Nick, I don't think you would notice this hole with your tire size.
Or if you are talking about hole after the second ledge after the sharp left/right... hell that hole used to have a guardrail against it and a tree. Not no more. If anyone misses the line and goes too far right, I suspect they will roll down the mt.
