Uwharrie Trip.. When is good?

I have never been to Uwharrie. A good friend and wheeling companion has a sister who lives on a bunch of land minutes away. We can go and camp on his sisters property as long as it is not close to deer season.

When is a good time to plan the trip? I would rather go when it is not too hot or too crowded. Any good trips in the works by the folks on here that we could jump in with so we aren't totally lost?

From what I understand we are probably built enough to be able to wheel anything there.
 
It can be VERY dusty in the summer when there is no rain. Go after a good rain, and it will be much more enjoyable plus more interesting.
 
With alol the rain this week it should be good, 88* saturday and 10% chance of rain.
