Some friends and I are plannning on going to Uwharrie Oct 7th - 10th. Was wondering if anyone has been lately and could give an acurrate trail report?

yeah, no one there!!! I dont know what the deal is last year every time we went, there was always at least 15 or 20 rigs to ride with,and this year I dont ever see any one(and i go almost every weekend). We have not been in about a month or so,because we never could find any one to ride with, I hope it will pick up some when it cools down some, but yeah I will go out there oct 7th- 10th....I have not even seen John(stump) out there(and I allways see him).
 
With the lack of rain lately, is it a total dust bowl?
 
Went up 2 weekends ago... it was real dry and dusty, the first lip on daniel has gotten a little worse but nothing a 93 yota sas & locked front and rear can't handle!:D Other than that every things bout the same.

it isnt too dry right now... i think the area around troy has been getting small showers every night. I agree it was a total dustbowl about 2 weeks ago but I have been the last 2 weekends and it wasnt terribly dusty but not terribly wet.
 
you have the nissan with the D44 sas and big bed rack? Saw you up there if you are. If you think that is dusty you shold have been there before the few rain showers of the week.

Looked like desert storm the second weekend in september. I couldnt see my brother driving our suxuki 20 ft behind me.
 
that weekend is Zuwharrie the Suzuki thing might want to avoid it. Probably lots of rigs.

Just my 2 cents.

yeah thats mine, i thought it was pretty bad... but everytime i have been there before it wasnt as dusty due to rain.....
 
Thanks for the report guys. It is good to see some people are willing to respond to these things. Hope to see some of you there. By the way Zuwharrie?
 
zuwharrie is a yearly gathering of suzuki owners. last year it wasnt too crowded, and the samurais are usually fun to watch.

hi every one I just moved back here a few months ago from cali and have been trying to get out and do some crawlin, please post where you all are going to be and I will meet up with you on friday evening I'll be in a 85 4runner and my wife will be in a 94 tracker :)
 
We are planning on staying at Arrowhead campground. There will be a tan tj, silver toyota and others. We all monitor channel 22 on the CB if you have one equipped. Also look for the red stickers in the windshield. Dead military giveaway. lol. We would be glad to see you as we are brining our families to and are trying to make this a fun event.
 
I was there today with one other guy. The dust was not bad, I could actually see while driving down 555. The trails are dry for the most part a few small mud puddles here and there. Daniel was no problem (locked in the front), Rocky Mount Loop was dry for the most part execpt between the double parking lot and Slab Pile...muddy and pitted in there (watch out for the one tight left hand corner). Dutch John was the wettest with the most puddles and a little mud, the big hill climb was nothing today. I will be out there on this Saturday too...
 
Ill be there that weekend. Ill be in a military green samurai with blacked out hood center. Say hello if you spot me, looking to meet some 4-wheelers in the area.

If everything goes as planned me and Jeepnmud will be there this SAT. the 8. Hope we get a little rain thur. or fri. Uwharrie can be very interesting when wet. Hope to see yall there if you see a black CJ with tube fenders and an orange spyder on the side and a red YJ just give us a yell.
