Someone asked me the other day about a rumor they have heard of the trails closing at Uwharrie. He said that he heard it on NCkrawler.com. Dont think I have ever been to that web site. Anyway I told him I had not heard anything about it. I know I hear such rumors every year. Just wondering if there is any truth to it at all.

Thats what I figured just checking.

the rumr on nckrawler.com was posted by jeepercreature. for more acurate info involving uwharrie i suggest reading the new section thats being made here or pm radioman on here

:) Now you see, this is how rumors get started., If you read the post you will see I did not start anything. I was eating at Ruby Tuesdays and a few guys with Croatan National Forest shirts were telling me about plans for national forest in NC. They "mentioned" URE was being looked at to CHANGE, NOT CLOSE, into a ATV park. Nothing else was said. I actually contacted the National Forest and got more information about URE and a few other parks but the way you guys misunderstand everything I will not post anything until it happens.

Geesh sorry I had someone ask me a question and I told them I had heard of no such rumor but I wouild ask you guys. I stated where my friend said the rumor came from. I even said I have never visited the website it came from. I got my answer.

I did not misunderstand anything. I simply asked about something I heard second hand.

Yeah I noticed that section after I made the post. There is nothing there that would answer this question or at least at the time I made the post it was not there because I looked.

The posts and PMs were the reason we decided to do this NC Lands section thingie, and the Badin Lake Recreation Area in the Uwharrie is not and never has been a park, despite the perennial rumors to that effect, and as long as it's a National Forest, it can't be a park, so quash that rumor.
