I was thinking about heading that way too. Which trails are you wanting to hit? I'm not planning on doing anything crazy since it'll be my first trip out that way.
Hey guys, new to NC, new to the forum. I was hoping to find some folks going to Uwharrie this Saturday. Mind if I tag along? Haven't taken the jeep out in almost a year. Thanks.
4bangertj is going Saturday morning, and there are others meeting Sunday morning as well. Both meeting at the Eldorado Outpost around 9 in the morning. Here's the thread for Saturday.
Nice. I'll try to be there. Just hooked up the tubing to a front ARB for the first time. Can't get the switch to engage the solenoid, but I oughta have it figured out by saturday.
Really we need a mega phone/PA speaker on this. If you are riding the trails this Saturday its really simple:
- Stop by the host site at the Arrowhead Campgrounds, talk to Janet about signing up. If you don't have trash bags with you she will have some. If you don't have a season pass you will get a FREE TRAIL PASS for the day, just ask her for one. Takes maybe 10 minutes tops including the out of the way driving time.
- While you are riding the trails if you see trash take the minute or so to pick it up. Something we should all be doing anyway.
- At the end of the day stop back by Arrowhead and go to the dump station/trash container. Throw the trash in and that is it.
It is really simple, and you will be doing your part to help keep our trails open. And I really think its the least we can do considering the Forest Service is doing their part opening new trail(s) and doing a lot of repair work/re-routing our current trails this year and the upcoming years.
Me and some guys from Huntersville and surrounding areas will be up there Sunday if the weather holds out. Right now its looking like alot of rain Saturday, so hopefully Sunday will be good enough weather to play in.
Fired it up - no go. Have to replace the slave cylinder, leakin all over the place- dang. Thanks for the invite guys, but I won't make it.
Will pick up trash next time I wheel there
Weather is looking a little crappy the whole weekend. Hopefully things change since there are so many wanting to get out and play.
I'm curious about one thing though. I mountain bike and know that it's frowned upon to ride bike trails during and immediately after rainfall because of all the ruts it creates. Does this rule apply to off-road trails as well? I'm all about getting muddy, but not at the expense of others' sanity.
a few of us from work will be coming up Sunday. We have some rookies with us, so we'll be avoiding the big stuff. We'll probably be at the outpost by 9am as well...
Greenland, where abouts in Greensboro are you and when are you leaving? Draider is trying to get a sign I have to URE and would be great if one of your group could deliver. Let me know.
