It won't accept a standard axle shaft, if that's what you mean. There is something funky about the diff and/or side gears. You might be able to if you swapped in a standard diff, but even if you could, it's hardly worth all that trouble.
I forgot to mention. I have seen guys tack weld the locking sleeve in place and just run it that way. Probably just as strong as the normal set-up. If you blow it, just toss it and put in a non-disco front end.
