Ok fellas, I dont seen to have a ported vac source available on my '70 chevy 307 V8- 2 barrel Rochester. Is this possible? Does it adjust timing even at idle? If you are knowlegable enough to answer this, then what is base timing and do I set it with this vac line connected to the dizzy? This was an engine swap in a Willys that I just got and when I was poking around, I noticed that it was hooked to a manifold vac source. Can this be right? -it seems to run ok.

there are a few links to other info as well.

lots of variables that really prevent giving the "right" answer, dependant on what your engine set up is.

I know I would start out with 8°-10° base timing and play with it from there.

read the link voodoo posted it covers it all. You need ported vacuume it will be a tube above the base plate. Timing ya try 8-10

But I'm probably not knowledgable enough.. :flipoff2:
