Did a search and there was one thread about vacuum dealers back in 2007.

I see them for sale from $30 to $300. What key features does one need to look at? Any recommendations on a specific sealer? Anything to know about the bags or rolls?

Got one at the house we use for smaller stuff. Will have to dig it out. For bigger stuff/ full bird or rabbit we use the hot water shrink bags off of Amazon with much better results!

This one has been great for us was 28 on prime day or something like that. Says not available now though. So probably under another name. I use it weekly

I use a standard foodsaver. I buy rolls and cut them to the desired size. It's always worked well, but i honestly want one of the better ones that can seal liquids.
Liquids would be good. I like saving stock and broth. Mostly Iā€™m looking at meats and wanting to buy larger cuts to carve up and to save on the smaller cuts. You can buy a whole chicken for the cost of two boneless breasts for example. That type of thing.

One like this is what I'm talking about. A chamber sealer. You can go mild to wild with the prices.

I usually do a ziplock and let all the air out. Easy enough. But if this does it too, better and cheaperā€¦
We use the simple thing wall containers and once they kind of get the flash freeze we tighten the lids down and havenā€™t had an issue.

Also the wife found these bigger jugs for cheap on Amazon. And they have been good for a few uses.

If you are a believer - freezing plastic is suppsoseldy really bad for you.

I figure something else will get me first.

#metoo. Honestly I wouldnā€™t even know where to start for limited use freezing containers. I suppose I could go broke using stainless steel pressure vessels. Anything that I found that it was glass-based is absolutely trash because we have tried.

Ditto... does great for most meats. Grabbed one of the mason jar attachments, but quickly put it back in the box after several fails.
ALL liquids go into either Ziplocks or quart lidded containers with no issues (typically make multiple gallons of stock from chicken/T'giving turkey carcasses)
