Few guys from work and our other halves came out to Vegas for the week, we are all meat market managers for a local grocery chain, and right off the bat, run into our health inspector at a restaurant inside Charlotte Douglas airport, fun times. We got here about 6:30 last night, ate, drank and gambled a little. Looking forward to a fun and expensive week. Who all has been out here before?

I went once for a friends wedding back in about 2005? I don't gamble, but enjoyed seeing the place. I might go back again before I take the big dirt nap, or I might not.

Where are you staying? We head out about every other year.
We are staying at the Aria, seems nice. Although I wasn’t ready for the $600 deposit for the room once I checked in. @drkelly i actually don’t gamble much myself, figured I’d play a little while here just for the “experience” but definitely not gonna lose control and lose a bunch of money, so I say. Just excited to be out here and experience what Vegas has to offer

Spent about 4 days there not too long ago. I’d recommend the super deep dish pizza from Giordano’s, the Mob Museum, and the Bodies exhibit. Also, take a stroll down through Fremont street at night and check out old Vegas. The real freaks come out after dark.

Not sure if they have the monorail open or not, but you can pick it up at MGM and ride up to Harrahs and walk to the Venetian. Check out the Shoppes and do some walking around.
HEXX restaurant at Paris is a good spot for brunch. We typically stay at Ballys.

I like playing the older slot machines, one of my favorites is Ballys 50c TopDollar is a good time you usually can play a long time on a little bit of money.

We plan to check out Fremont st for sure, thanks for the other recommendations I’m sure we will check those out as well! @83oldyoda4x4 i see the monorail from our room, not sure yet if it’s open but I think the roller coaster at the New York, New York place was open so it probably is,

I went to a conference about 10 years ago for the company that runs all the tech at the Aria. We had a blast.

My mom and dad went 4-5 times a year back in the 80s when it was cheap. I went a few times back then. I remeber you literally could get steak and eggs at circus circus for $1.99 on a paper. Plate for breakfast. My parents got travelers checks in my dads name mom carried them. When one needed more $$$ they would have to find the other to get more. If you are looking to win, find a casino off the strip odds are better there. I have a cousin that lives there plays Keno all the time. Craps, is fun once you learn it,and money can seem to last a little longer. I haven't been in probably 7 years, stayed in The Sands before they demolished a couple months later.

Going the week of Thanksgiving. Staying at the cosmopolitan and I'm looking forward to just seeing the place. I went to cherokee (well, the casino part) for the first time last year and the GF and myself each spent $25 and we had enough. Neither one of us cared for the gambling or the atmosphere. Seeing people slumped over just plugging in money that you knew they couldn't afford to be wasting...
But I'm excited for Vegas and the lights at night.

How is the mask thing there? That's the part that sucks is going if stuff is still on lockdown

When I was out there the masks were being enforced. Even by hotel staff strolling the lobby. Out on the street, not so much. Most people would buy one of those 3 foot tall mixed drinks and walk around with the straw hanging out of their mouth. I will say beware of the power chairs. There’s a company out there renting them to whoever pretty cheap. The uh... “people” renting them aren’t disabled. They’re just riding and drinking and will damn near run your ass over.

Masks are a thing once you enter any establishment, when walking on the strip I don’t wear mine but once I go into a business I put it on, part because they have a sign about requiring it and part because I just don’t wanna deal with “put your mask on” just easier. But it’s not really crowded at all. This is my first time but we’ve ran into people who frequent Vegas and they talk about how it’s nothing like it used to be due to Covid. I’m enjoying it still though. Can gamble and drink and walk the strip, just have to have the mask on....unless drinking or smoking while gambling, then it seems to be pretty loose....cosmopolitan is right beside where we are, walking distance to most of the “big” casinos here, it’s pretty nice. Went to the cosmopolitan today, that’s a nice place, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it there

I was out a few years ago for a trade show for work (World of Concrete). Had a blast. I care nothing about gambling, I played slots with $10 and when it was gone I was wandering why people get hooked. I enjoyed the drinks and food, and buildings and such more than anything. Ate at In & Out, think that’s a must if you’re out there.
I rented a truck and drove out to tour the Hoover Dam, one of the coolest things I’ve seen/done.

Went for sema a couple times, mgm broke even, New York I lost, and Tropicana I won. Set a amount and stop when it’s gone (Best advise I could give and followed myself) 1 night Couple high rollers (provided the bulls for the pbr) just walking through sat with us at a blackjack table, drank shot the shit and prob pissed away 4k like it was nothing, while I was drinkin for free and was still having a good time with my $100 limit I set for myself. Guys I was with spent way more than me. I heard old Vegas is badass and at night gets crazy, but never got to go. Cab drivers are nuts and the cabs are trashed. You can rent damn near anything if your willing to pay for it

I went over there just because. Didn’t see what all the fuss was about myself. I walked from one end to the other and back. I guess mostly with my conservative values, nothing appealed to me there. The zip line looked cool, but the coolest thing I seen was the Maine Lobster truck thing. Got me an $18 lobster roll as seen on Shark Tank lol.

First time i went to Fremont it was pretty cool. Second time i went would be my last time, its like the mytrle beach of vegas. I would hate to win anything big down there, so many sketchy people. Cant drink and relax, due to the pick pockets atleast the last time i went.

I went there in 1997. It was pretty cool. Went back again in 2003. Place had changed and it just didn't have that feel like it did in 97.

Did a couple day trips when I was spending a lot of time on the west coast. Love blackjack, so played at Treasure Island, the ARIA, Bellagio and Caesar’s. Played a few slots just to say I did. Got a Pappy flight at Sage bar and did some other bourbon taste testing. Didn’t really have time to do much else. I can say it would have definitely been a different experience had I not been by myself and/or stayed overnight.

We went to Fremont last night, it was definitely different. Seen a dude in nothing but a thong and face painted up like Paul Stanley from KISS. So that was awesome....we did do the zip line thing, it claims to be from 11 stories up, it didn’t feel like it though, I hate heights but was ok doing this....other than that, spent to much in the HD store, ate some food there and played a few slots then back towards the strip we went.

I think I have gone to Vegas for work conferences four times. Last couple I got the 3 day bus pass and used that to get around.

If you can go to the top of the world for dinner the view is worth it.

Harrahs seemed to have best buffet.

Take the red bus tour pretty cool history tour.
