Is it really to much to ask to have people put pictures up? In this day in age there is no reason to advertise anything without pictures!

I agree for the most part. Anything over $50 should have a picture in my opinion. Even if they don't have a star they could at least put them in a photobucket account and post the pics that way. Should it be made a rule in the for sale section? Maybe say anything over $100 has to have a pic with it?

Well, lets put it this way. I'm currently looking to buy a jeep. I also am always in the market for just about anything. If I dont see a pic I just go right on by. I'm not gonna waste my time. If they can email them to someone they sure as hell can post them up.

I agree. The only reason I can see not posting pictures is something I have done a few times. Post the ad at work and post the pics later. But I think they should have pics either when it is posted or shortly there after.

People have reasons for not posting pics, some are posting for friends who do not provide pics, some can not link pics, nor want to get an account with another site. It should not be a requirement for your conveience. Just skip over thread, their loss.

True, and it's mainly because they're lazy. I generally assume that anyone who can't bother to post a pic is a dumb ass in general and it would end up being a hassle to do business with them. That, or they are trying to misrepresent the true condition of what they are trying to sell. Either way, they aren't getting any of my cash.

that's fine
But as for me my camera takes pics too big to post
I dont do photobucket,etc.

So to post a pic requires a resize etc..

not worth my time, if someone is really interested theyy ask for emails.....

Ever noticce how 99% of all the people who bitch about people sellin shit the wrong way never buy a damn thing?

Yeah, because there aren't dozens of other free sites on the net that do the exact same function as Photobucket. Way to stand strong there. As for the bitching comment, those are some nice made up statistics there. I've bought and sold a ton of stuff on here though, so I know that you're not talking about me.

imagemaic has batch functionality, aka resize XYZ.JPG with some parameters, real easy to just drop in a certain folder run a batch job, spit out new resized pics... done..

You are missing the point. I (and many others like me)do not use ANY online photo storage site. I have no use for them and can not imagine signing up and getting even one piece of spam email just to make someone who bitched on a message board happy. Sorry you just arent that important to me.

Ok so you can make up a statistic and it ok, but when its refuted by one its not.

I guess I take it a bit personally because Ive sold 5 vehicles this year on this site and have posted pictures of no more than 2 and maybe only 1.....shrug

IMO anyone too lazy or cheap to either a) email or call and talk to you, or b) drive their happy ass down to look in person probably isnt serious enough to begin with.

This may be useful.
Thanks Mike Ill look into that.
Is that imagemaic.com?

My FS thread disappeared. Its okay b/c the vehicle was sold, and I was only trying to find it to remove it, but ... why did it disappear?

It was deleted because it was sold, probably.

The board software actually resizes images automatically... but only to a point. I'm not sure exactly where the cutoff is, but if I try to upload a 1500KB image, no go... if I upload a 500KB image, it resizes automatically.
