Vehicle Opinions Wanted, Truck or Jeep

Been kicking around the idea of trading my truck (F150) in for a JKU. I've wanted/missed having a jeep ever since I sold my CJ about 5 years ago.
My question is how bad am I screwing up getting rid of my truck bed? I was without a truck once before when I had a Tahoe. It didn't bother me until I needed to do something like fill up a gas can, or throw some wet/muddy riding gear in the back. I can think of two occasions in the last 6 months where I was glad to have my truck bed for spur of the moment purchases at Lowes.
I'll also add that I have a 5'x10' trailer to compensate for no truck bed.
Am I gonna regret no truck? Any of you guys ditch the truck for a Jeep? Opinions wanted. Fire away.

JKs are different from other SUVs in that hey are basically made to get dirty on the inside. You can easily get a rubber liner for the back section, or if it's gonna be something really smelly you can get half-back tops that will seal off the back so it is more truck-like.
If that's your primary concern, I'd think that that + the trailer you'd have all your bases covered.

I got a JKU, kept my truck (F250). Better gas mileage, and can take the truck when I need to haul/tow. Best of both worlds, no compromise.

'cept my truck is a damned shortbed. About as worthless as a SUV...never gonna make that mistake again.

I see your in Sanford. Did you pick your JKU up local? If so, which dealer?

I got rid of the truck and got the JKU and a trailer a couple years ago. Last month I went back to a truck. But I bore easily. I like either.
How's that for helpful?
How often were you hooking up the trailer? Enough to justify a truck bed?

I've personally never had a jk, have several friends with them... they all are trading them in. They are crappy SUVs if you get a soft top.

I'd rather have a TJ, YJ, or CJ, but with the wife and kids 2 doors aren't feasible.
A hard top would be a must.

Before I bought my new to me f150, I went and looked and drove one of the jk's. I was disappointed. I liked the tj I had a lot better. Wasn't impressed with the v6 at all.

A few times a year. Usually if I wanted to haul a motorcycle to the trails as opposed to riding there or picking up large items like lumber for a project so it wasn't too annoying.
The truck is better for throwing mountain bikes and such in without having to put the hitch rack on and off each time. Throwing wet camping gear in. Filling gas cans or dropping off old oil without smells or spills. Being someplace and buying a large unexpected item without going home for the trailer.
Those are the types of things that put me back in a truck for now.

Got it new at Classic Jeep/Dodge/whatever in Goldsboro. Found what I was looking for on autotrader.com, right color and all. Went and did a test drive, then did a trucar price...offered about 2k less than trucar just to see what would happen (and told them it would be an out-the-door price...no add ons or deal was over) (and it was a '15 model, when most of them on the lot were 16's). They accepted, went down to pick it up, was in and out in 45 minutes.

We can haul a good bit of stuff in the wife's 4 Dr, the seats in the rear are not great for big adults. My 2 Dr is definetly limited on space.

The 3.6 v6 is strong, I do not think lacks power at all, the 3.8 in the 07-11 is sluggish.

......When he says the rear seats are not great what he means to say is they fucking suck if you're over 6ft tall.
