Vehicle Title Questions

I bought a 99 Dodge Ram 3500 off my cousin in West Virginia. He bought it from someone in Maryland and never had the title in his name. He gave me the title which is registered in a man's name, but a woman who supposedly has power of attorney signed it as the seller. He says the truck was either owned by a business or the registered owner died so that's why she has power of attorney. He says he has gotten a truck with a title like this registered in WV just fine without any power of attorney paperwork, but I want to get it registered in NC. Am I screwed without this paperwork? Do I have any other options?

You will need that document. No way around it. It has to be an original. No copies or faxes.

Dealt with this on my wife's current car as the seller had moved out of the country and a relative was POA on it.

Buying a car from someone who never put the title in their name is always asking for lots of paperwork headaches.
