VERBAL AGREEMENTS!!!must read

I don't really know anyone here, I've made a couple deals with a few guys here, including Jeremy. I will say this, during our deal, we had great communication, both by texts and phone conversation. The Tires I bought from him was exactly what he said they were, and was delivered when he said they would be. I have no complaints, consider Jeremy to be a good guy, and wouldn't hesitate to do business with him again.

Seems to me that the OP is a whiny butt who can't communicate. I buy a lot of stuff from people I don't know based on phone calls and text messages. However, if I get the run around form someone I will cut the deal and walk away. Plain basic smarts and common sense tell me to make contact with the person I am dealing with in some manner before I make a drive anywhere to meet anyone, that would go double if I had to rent a trailer to pick up whatever it was I was buying.

I hope the OP learned a lesson. There is no substitute for communication.

Oh and "I will take it out of your ass" could be construed as communicating a threat - just saying.
I dont think I bought or sold anythin gto eother of you, But I know people that delt with Mac even if he drives a jeep seams to be a stand up guy
i usually try to stay out of childish shit like this, but since this could be important at a later date, here it goes.
mac the only thing you did wrong, was trying to be nice, when he didn't agree to your "ORIGINAL" terms, that should have been the end of it. i have tried to help people out like that before and it never gets you anywhere.
a text is no way to do business, if you want to make something happen, pick up the phone.
this is the real issue i have here, he texted you that he was going to "take it out of your ass". that would make me drive the 50 miles to let him prove it. i can't stand people who think they are superman when they are 50 miles away. he didn't even have the balls to call you and tell you he was going to whoop your ass, he texted you. if someone's going to whoop my ass, please call me, or better yet, just show up. i am really busy and the time i wasted texting could have been used for other things.(like letting you prove you "can take it out of my ass")

His text read " you are a piece of :poop:and i ought to take it out on your ass". I took that as a threat.

I told him that if he felt that way, then to come to where i was, and we'd talk about it, and that i felt it wouldn't be an issue because i knew if he couldn't meet to get tires, then he definitely wouldn't meet me in person over childish crap.

I know, i know, i drive a jeep, but you toy guys keep in mind, I do have a 4Runner.

What i'm taking away from this situation is nothing. I'm still going to attempt to compromised with buyers in order to try to work to make a deal.

I'm still going to go out of my way to make it easy on a seller when I buy something.

The only thing i'm not going to do, is to deal with midway jeremy again, and really to me, its nothing lost.

add one more to the "Mac isnt the problem here" club.

Bought a motor from him and he was MORE than fair with it. Made the deal seamless with me being in atlanta and him in NC. Even delivered it to my friends shop in Raleigh...He gets a beer on me if we ever cross paths...

OP: just suck it up man, if i had a dollar for every time someone "verbally agreed" to buy something of mine, only to have me pull the part, wake up early/hungover on a saturday to meet them, and them not even show up....I would be a rich man. A deal isnt a deal until money has changed hands.

dont know either of ya:fuck-you:,but ill add ive done many deals by text AND phone calls, put the greenbacks in my hand and you got the shit....

Don't know either people involved...

I will text about a deal only if specified in the listing that is a prefferred contact, otherwise I will find the time to call.

I usually offer any items I am selling to friends before I would post them for sale, but did have an issue a while back similar to this, where a guy gave me a deposit on a truck, and another buyer came with cash. I told the guy with cash I made a agreement to hold the deposit for 24 hours, I sold the truck about 45 minutes after that time was up. The guy who left the deposit tried to make a big deal out of it, the way I see it, I was nice enough to return the deposit, even though in our agreement it was nonrefundable.

I am fairly big on a verbal agreement though, I have a set of tires I am going to get sold here in the next week, a member here showed interest in a thread I mentioned them, hes fairly local, talked to him on the phone enough to tell he is interested, and I will give him the first chance, if he doesnt buy them, I will post them and it becomes a money talks bullshit walks situation unless its someone I know or have dealt with before, then I will hold something.

Wow its been over a week and nothing from Midway, guess he read everyones response and realized he was overeacting.
I agree Mac, you did what was in your power to help the buyer but in this case he was a diva. When I read his statement he already proved he wasnt ready to pick up the tires by saying "MAC5005 didnt call me until 9:00-9:15 that night....by that time I didnt have the option of a trailer that late at night not to mention the 30+ min drive to go meet the guy..." thus saying he didnt have a trailer ready to pick them up from you but then says that he rented one the next day.. Well why didnt he just rent one for the day he was supposed to pick up the tires?

Theres always two different sides to a story, and Im going with Mac.. He is well known on this forum, paid to be here, has a good history with folks and doesnt go around starting posts taking trash about all the :poop:ty buyers who bull:poop: around and want him to do all the work..

Way to stick to your convictions Mac, you did what you could! On to the person who puts cash in your (or in this case your friends) hand!

I will trust alot of things, but I do not trust a stranger to give me his word, and I trust even less is a stranger that communicates through text (after waiting an hour at a rest stop waiting for a "texter" to come buy my stuff, who never showed) . Put your big boy pants on and get over it.

amazing who trust you if you have a red star :D that is 5 dollars well spent

I trust all paying members...except lauren.
:flipoff2:

Honestly, Texting takes a lot longer than talkin on the same phone, he could have been there by the time he got thru texting. I've acually had someone text for a freakin day tryin to lowball me from 30 min. down I-40 finally I just quit responding. Not to mention all my ads say CALLING is easier to reach me. Yeah it sounds like miscommunication, that was probably caused by TEXTING! Smell what I'm steppin in ?
