Just saw this on another forum, passing it along for the vets here (I am not one, BTW, FWIW):

Starting today until 11 Nov, $40 of your Amazon Prime renewal

You have to input your discharge Month and Year.

ONLY GOOD UNTIL 11 Nov.

Does not matter when your expiration date is, it will add 12 months to that.

Just got it done. I had to do it on a computer. I couldn't get it to play along on the app or on an Ipad.
