I have several videos from the URECross that I'm sure folks would like to see, including the whole run from the dashboard of the $30 XJ.
Of course, the files are huge (450 megs for the XJ run).

What is the best way to cpmpress and share these? Just upload to Youtube? Surely they have a max file size. Any preferred quick 'n easy editing/comversion programs?
I have some pretty substantial web domain space, so I don't midn hosting myself if the quality is better (w/o exceeding stupid bandwidth)

I would actually be interested in seeing if you would be willing to burn them to a cd and then sending me a copy. I am willing to pay for the disc and mailing costs.

But, uploading to the sites I know of all have a 100mb limit for videos, so the $30XJ run would need to be cut into at least 5 parts.

Foul language will be bleeped. We didn't hit any trees, and you can't see the fluids from the video! :flipoff2:

ya, and since it's mounted on the dash, you even miss out on the shots of Mark's ugly mug (which I'm sure would make it PG13 at least)

Try and upload to Google video... I'm curious to see what they provide. I think they'll let you upload it so everyone can download it uncompressed if they want and otherwise they display it as a flash video. Also, make sure to mark it with CreativeCommons licensing.

i think the limit for youtube is 10 minutes. they compress it to the allowable size during the upload process.

If ya drove faster, you wouldnt have had so much footage to edit :flipoff2:

yer funny :flipoff2:
most of what needs to be taken out is the dead time at the beginning when we were waiting to go, and afterward when we were trying to figure out where the tranny leak was coming from.

Our race time was under 10 min so it hould fit on Youtube nicely...
