Ok so I have a 96 chevy k1500 and Im having trouble getting it to run right. I replace the fuel pump, fuel filter, and the strainer. It pumps fuel but the pump is screaming so loud and the truck wont run. When it does fire up it cuts out seconds later. I had it running fine and drove it around the block and got back and it started doing this. I think the return fuel line might be plugged. Plus I have another problem with my 4L60E. No second gear what so ever. Once I get it running I'm going to work on the tranny. I want this truck to run. I dont care about the check engine light since it will never need to be inspected due to the fact that its registered in Iowa.

might wanna see what code the CEL is signaling might give some insight into 1,2 and 3

The CEL is there to tell you there is a problem. Use it. Have you tried checking the fuel pressure?

I have gotten the cel code and yes I checked the fuel pressure at the schrader valve. I get some pressure. Its definetely not enough to fully fuel the engine

Its going to be darn near impossible to help you if you dont give us something to work with.
"I have the code" and "some pressure" are not exactly diagnostic measurements.

If you wanna throw parts at it though, feel free.

Well I havent had much time to mess with it. Im going to pull the fuel lines and blow them out with air. It has had problems with the gas tank locking ring coming loose while wheeling. So I think there might be something plugging the fuel line. As for the transmission I had it rebuilt twice already. It first lost 3rd gear had it fix and now it sits without 2nd gear.
