I've got two tires i'm interested in having vulcanized and wanting to know if it works and if it's worth it. there 14/42-16.5 Iroks with probably at least 80% tread.
One tire has a 1/4" deep gash about 10" long on the side wall, but the tire still holds air and the gash wasn't deep enough to get to the nylon layers but would still maybe like to have it fixed.
The other tire is completely cut all the way through about 6" long. it's mostly on the sidewall but the gash ends in the edge lug area of the tread.
Would anyone suggest vulcanization? If so, who does it in the Charlotte area?
