trying to put my wrangler back together and had to pull the passenger side rear axle shaft. i swapped f/r dana 44's into my wrangler several years back. the wheel bearing and seal were trashed. when i built these axles i was able to find all the necessary parts. now i cant find squat no matter where i go. i have been to napa, carquest, and advance and none of them have the right parts listed under the vehicle that it came out of which was an 86 grand wagoneer. I got the seal but cant find the wheel bearing or retainer ring. has anyone else had a problem located parts for these axles lately? am i going to have to go to the stealership to get the right parts? any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

My 86 GW has an AMC 20 hd rear end. Jeep ran these in them for a couple of years, then switched back to the d44 rear in 87 i believe. Probably need to go to ECGS or 4wheelparts to get the correct parts.

Can't you just give them the part number? that said, I am pretty sure they changed the bearing style to one without a race the last time I bought them

Advance #s
31594 bearing (cone)
31520 race (cup)

i will swing by advance tomorrow and get them to check those part numbers. there was a seal one time that i had to get for the front 44 and every time they would pull up the part, didnt matter if it was for a chevy 44 front or a rubicon 44 front, it would be the seal for a dana 30 front. finally had to take one of the old seals up there and have them run the part number to get the right one. i would have given them the part number off my old bearing had it had one.

thanks for the numbers redneckcj5guy

take two. those numbers were for a bearing and race but they were not the right ones for my axle. that or my axle is severely screwed.

wow! $75 for a wheel bearing and retainer from the stearlership. i think they said the bearing was $48 and the retainer $25? how does that even make since for those two items to be so expensive. i'll never understand their pricing for parts and for an entire vehicle.

problem solved thanks to redneckcj5guy. Paul is a stand up guy. jeep is now drivable again.

Can you tell us?

there was a thread on here a while back about this that stated the napa part # was wrong. said to use #ns2300 in national brand witch is same as high pinion seal.haven't had to buy one yet to see if that is right but made a note of it. would like to here what you found out.

i'll have the correct part numbers after i take the bearings off of one of the axle shafts that i got from him.
