I really want to mount my tv on my wall. Always been scared to mount it in the event that somehow it falls...anyone have a larger tv mounted on the wall? Any recommendations as far as brand/style? I really would like a fully adjustable one because I'm def gonna need it tilted at an angle to view it.

hey bud, I have a 55" and wanted to mount above mantle when we moved into a rental house last year, it really wasnt as bad as I thought it would be and trust me it secures to the wall with 4 lag screws (if they are like mine)so not going anywhere. Mine is the full motion, tilt ect. that will hold from 32-63" I got it from Sams club last year for around 100 bucks. I use to pull tv out 3' from wall and turn it sideways so I could watch from kitchen lol!We bought a house 2 months ago and wife wanted different living room furniture that came with TV stand so im not going to use mine anymore. If you want it for 50 bucks let me know

i too got the one from sam's club. paid $100 for it. have a 55" tv on it, and it is great. you can pull it out every which way. just make sure you hit the studs with the lag bolts.

Ive got a 65 in the living room mounted on the wall.
Bought the mount off amazon from Cheetah mounts for about $25.

Now you have to think through this, when you start mounting the bigger TVs, movement is limited to get a 10Deg pitch you will eb something like 6 inches off the wall.

Thats one of the beauties of a 60+" though mount it at the right height and it centers the wall

I have a 55" on one I bought form Monoprice.com.
It's a scissor-style deal, can pull it out from the wall and rotate up to probably 45 degrees or so. It's rated for >160 lbs, after I mounted it I hung my body off it just to test it out. Only "requires" 4 lag screws but I used 8 for good measure.
Its was ~$80 IIRC.
This is not an area where you skimp, saving $40 on a mount holding your $1000 TV and getting one that allows lots of flexibility and strength is worth it.

Think about cabling also, e.g. your HDMI and wires for XBox/Wii/whatever. If you're going to pull it out and rotate it (we do this when the rare occasion arises that we want to see the TV from the dining room table), the cables will need enough extra length to compensate.

It will after Christmas before I do anything, but I will not skimp on a wall mount. I've been too scared to try and mount it on the wall until now. Gonna keep my nice tv stand I just bought for all my blu rays and games. Would also like to mount my sound bar on the as well....

Mine is tight enough I need 90 degree HDMIs, but I dont have the telescoping version.
