wall mount garage door openers

Did some more digging around.

The Chamberlain RJO70 is the homeowner equivalent of the Liftmaster 8500w. All the specs are the same, motor etc just a different nameplate on the box. The liftmaster with warranty is only available through dealers and be installed by them. The RJO70 is available from Lowes so any warranty issues should not be an issue.

I checked my door this weekend and it looks like the torsion bar has plenty of bar sticking out and is the correct 1" size.

I'll most likely be buying the RJO70 from Lowes with attached warranty and getting it installed soon. I still need to measure my door as its a two car garage door and I want to make sure that motor can handle it.

Bringing this back. Something in the motor controller on my old skool chain drive died and its time to make the switch.
Doesn't look like there are a ton of models on the market. From what I can tell if you already have the door T-bar etc, all you need to do is to slip the clamp that the motor drives onto the end of the bar that sticks out past the bearing. Seems pretty straightforward.
Looks like there's Genie, Liftmaster, and Chamberlain
WTF is up w/ phone-app based intergration? I don't want that shit. How about just a button?

@RatLabGuy I went with the Chamberlain RJO70. It's awesome.

Phone App is good as well. Also comes with a wall mount and 2 car openers. You don't have to setup the app for the door to work.

I had 2 doors put in recently and they installed 98032 lift master jackshaft openers. You can't even hear the doors moving up and down, I love them.

Do you really use the app much? Does it buy you anything over a good old clicker? Do I correctly assume the app is going through a remote cloud server so it will work anywhere, or does it only work when at home?

Also can get a backup battery built in. We very rarely use power so that doesn't seem like a big deal, but it's got me wondering what else I might be able to do w/ a high amerage 24v DC source on hand ;-)

The app is pretty handy when you're lying in bed and your wife goes "did I shut the garage door when I got home???" and instead of going "damn if I know, did you?" you can pick up your phone and close it for her. Not that my wife does such a thing.....

And yes ours will work anywhere as long as the door opener is hooked to the wifi. We've used it to let my parents in when we aren't home, and it even offers to let Amazon open it to put packages in the garage. We do not opt for that option though.

The two things I like the app for:
- My daughters car doesn't have Homelink and I don't want a clicker left in the car in case someone breaks into it
- I can easily set up a neighbor on it on a temporary basis when they watch the dog while we're out of town.

Well I ordered the Chamberlain RJO101 on an eBay deal so we'll see how it works out.

thats an interesting use. We have digital number pad padlocks and use codes like this.

I use the App all the time. It came with two door clickers that are in our vehicles. If we go to the pool or ride around the neighborhood in the golf cart, I can open/close from my phone. I've opened the door half a state away for a friend that needed to grab something. I'll echo @CLRracer, I've closed the door from the bed countless times, extremely handy.

Mine came with the battery backup, when we do lose power, it's nice to be able to move the door. I have an oversized 2 car garage so moving the door by hand can be a pain.

I have my app also set to ensure the garage is closed at night also (auto set to ensure its closed at 9pm), I use the app a lot for our detached when I'm walking down to it.

I work with the door open a lot for airflow and often have a truck sticking half out... I can guarantee I'd forget about a rule like that and have it come down on me halfway through projects.
