I just bought a 1989 jeep cherokee in line 6 cyl ( not the high output). It has a ton of wires, hoses etc.. in the engine bay. is there anything I can delete? The only reason I ask is I had a 96 cherokee a year or so ago and there was not nearly as much crap under the hood. i have a pic of the jeep. Ill add pics of the motor so you have an idea of what im talking about. any help will be greatly apperciated. also I need front seats. the ones in it are pretty ripped up. also windo crank and door arm rest. Thanks for looking

Well post up pics of both engine bays....there may be stuff there that the previous owner did. Just trace everything to where it goes and decide if you want/need it.

There are a good number of Cherokees in the junkyards....should be easy to find the parts you need.

I believe the older ones have more vacuum gadgets and more EGR crap. I thinned a lot of junk under the hood of mine when I took off the AC ( it didn't work any way ). A lot of the other stuff I was able to just reroute and bundle and clean up. Made a little difference.

Thanks for the reply. My ac works but im thinking of getting rid of it or turning it in to on board air system. Speaking of that anyone have a good thread on how to do that?

If I were you I would keep the air. Those things get HOT inside on the trails with little air movement. If I had it to do over I would have fixed mine. That was in my plans until I sold it. My new ( to me ) rig has working air and I'm gonna keep it. LOL
