Warn 8274 solenoid

I'm looking to replace the solenoids on my 8274. I know the warn part number is 2040 but more than one person has told me that they are the same as old Ford starter solenoids. What are yaul using? Is this true?

From what I understand they are a constant duty solenoid, not a momentary solenoid like the old ford ones. The ford solenoid has the same packaging style, just not rated for continuous duty that you need in a winch. I would spend the $20 each on the Warn ones. If you need some let me know.

I just replaced the ones in my 8274 and after looking at the aftermarket ones, for the marginal savings I went with warn. At lest I knew they would bolt right up without any mods.
