Long stroy short, my buddy bought a used 9.5ti that didn't work. The previous owner apparently drowned it and water sat in the motor. The back bearing is trashed and the rotor is fused to the inner race. Also, the brushed are heat cracked, probably from powering up the winch with it seized or from normal use. Now, I could probably fix it if I could source the bearing and brushes, but he'd just rather let a pro take a crack at it.

The question is, is there anyone in the Charlotte/Gastonia area that'll work on this thing?

If nothing else contact Warn. Their customer service is very good, they should be able to hook you up with someone local.

Already did that. They were absolutely no help.

Warn, not D&B electric. Hoping for something closer to home.

I see Larry's is off of Graham. I figured wherever this motor goes, it's gonna be somewhere in that area. Seems all the good specialty shops are around there. Good suggestion. Anyone else?

i recently rebuit my xd9000i, WARN was awesome, they will sed you a complimentary refurbish kit wich includes all decals,emblems,ect... they forwarded me to clemson4wd, very knowledgeable and helpful.

He already called WARN and the guy there was absolutely no help. He offered no parts for sale or opinions on where to take it. I listened to the conversation and was baffled by the lack of help from such a reputable company. I'm not bashing warn at all, but the guy that answers the phone that day was a dumbass.

I bought a replacement motor from D&B for a ramsy winch. Shipped to central NC. Still pulling today. I would definately go that route again...

I can get the parts and rebuild the winch. I can get and rebuild Warn and Ramsey winches. Pm me if you want me to take a look at it. I commute daily to Hickory are from Mocksvillle. Thirty minutes from Winston Salem.
