This past weekend I broke a retainer for my warn hubs. Talked to warn and they don't have this retainer, they will warranty it but I would be down for three weeks and would miss the ure work day. Does any one know where I could get this spring retainer. Its from a 30 spline Dana 44 hub

thats for the inner hub thingy right? (the part that actually engages the splines of the shaft)

I "think" you can run just the inner and be ok.

Mcmaster car has them McMaster-Carr measure a good one to the right part.

Of course McMaster Carr has every size but the one I need, just my luck. I talked to warn and since it's an odd size hub they don't have a rebuild kit for it its a 60165 which isn't even on the list. Fabrik8 thanks for the name that really helps out in trying to source another one.

PDF with a parts blowup. Don't know if there's a part number for that ring.

The important part to finding that ring is the groove dimensions and the ring thickness. Smalley makes a lot of rings, and there's a lot more out there than what McMaster sells.

Also make sure the groove isn't damaged or the next ring can fail prematurely.

Also, Rotorclip and Arcon make those clips too. I'm just digging through my bookmarks.

Are those internal or external, and do you think they'd be metric?

It's external I found one were the ring dimensions line up but the groove doesn't. I'm starting to think they might had it sourced just for this application

Maybe a CR-150as well from the inch series. The groove is on the wrong side of tolerance for either of those, unless your measurement is a little light.

Actually, I think I've got it:

Smalley WS-146, which is probably the closest yet because of the groove width tolerance and diameter. The WS is the most common Smalley family, so I'm leaning toward that.

Rotorclip CM-146 is the same as the Smalley.

Dimension the rest of the important stuff on the old ring like the section width.
