What I would like:

Water spraying system for camping/boating/beach type activities

I would like to be able to rinse of my boat trailer after I dip it in the salt water.
I would like to be able to rinse of the people, gear, coolers after leaving the beach.
I would like to be able to use it for camping and general washing duties.

I don't really know how many gallons of water I will need. I suspect not many because I don't for see being in a situation where I will need more 10 gallons. (No extended trips)

I have a couple of large buckets with lids. They are in the 10 gallon range and should have enough water to get me through my needs.

Don't know much about pumps and what would work for GPM/PSI.
What about hose? (Pockethose?)
What about sprayer?

Probably going ebay special for the pump:

Looking at these:
Ebay 1
Ebay 2

I'd like to keep it under $50.00 bucks for parts.

Alright, I am going to bring this back.

I feel like using the keg will be the best idea. 15 gallons of water is heavy but I am going to use it for multiple purposes so more is better, right?

I removed the tap and the innards of the keg. What I am left with is a hole that has a fitting that I think I might be able to reuse. I am going to make a plate/wood cover for the top of the keg for the pump and for a place to wrap the hose while not in use.

Where I am stumped is how to plumb the whole contraption. I'd prefer to only have the one hole at the top. So that means it needs to be the fill, the outlet, and the vent.

Filling is going to be done by a standard water hose. Which is 3/4" GHT
The outlet needs to be 3/8" barb for the pump.
The vent needs to be small but present.

And of course the pump needs to draw from the very bottom of the keg so as to use all of the water available. So that means a hard line that goes to the very bottom. The question here is the pump is made for 3/8" ID tubing. What would happen if I used 1/2" pvc or something larger than 3/8". The pump is rated for a 4' head so no real worries there and it is rated to run dry.

I have attached a picture of the part that fits into the top of the keg. This is where the tap would mount.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Small Compressor? its doesn't take much.

Also I think you are making your life very hard by being determined to have only 1 hole. Whats wrong w/ multiple holes, that will make making it a lot easier.

the water tanks on the mixer trucks I used to drive were air powered. worked great and took very little air to operate as long as it was full to begin with.

If I would have thought about that in the beginning. I might have done that direction. However, I'm already invested in this setup.
