Hey quit with the logic. I was thinking the same. But it may be possible since phones all run on the same frequency(s).
 
Fake cell tower. Trick all the phones nearby into connecting to your fake tower by telling them you're the closest/best/strongest connection. Once connected, you've got the IMSI and you can send SMS to the phone.

The car in the vehicle is RHD and swerves to the left...away from the wheel.

We are intrinsically biased against oncoming traffic and will generally fail away from it. Or some shit our safety director at CALLC told me when they suspended me for texting and driving.
