Water temp gauge...mechanical or electric

Gonna stick one in my 96 xj and don't know if one is better than the other. Just looking for experience and advice. Thanks.

Mechanical is always working and correct, less problems and stuff to go wrong.

def go with mech, just make sure not to kink the line.

Mechanical, should be most accurate, & it will register the temp, without the key switch being on .

kinda of stealing a tread....but does anyone know where to get metric adapters for a temp gauge, tryin to put one in the samurai but cant find these things anywhere and id rather not order them

Haven't looked in a long time, but thought NAPA, carried them.

Going to buy the mechanical gauge tomorrow and install it this weekend. Thanks for the help.
