Waterfowl hunting

Anyone on here do any waterfowl hunting? I am hoping to join up with someone to pound on some birds this season. Been looking since last year and had no luck. I am willing to drive for the hunt. I have decoys, a layout blind, getting a boat this weekend and so on.

Ducks, Geese, swans......lions, tigers and bears oh my. Don't rally care just want to shoot stuff!!
 
Good luck man.. Me and my buddy have been looking for some good waterfowl hunting too... So far we have seen 2 ducks, which our luck they flew off as we were walking in. Ill keep you posted if I find some as I will hope you will do the same

Lake Matamuskeet, down east, is the prime spot in this state IMHO.

The birds are migrating now.

Not open to public hunts, but I have wondered why so many people ask to hunt the beaver swamp behind the house. Ducks, geese, and this year snow geese (about 75 in one acre). I did not realize that waterfoul hunting was so limited.
 
Geese are everywhere....just start shooting. :uzi:
 
It may be getting too late, but if you apply for a special hunt permit at the Butner (Falls Lake) Gamelands you can get some pretty nice duck hunts in the fall / winter.

There are several places in Butner that they flood during duck season and allow hunting by special permit only. The permit is a lottery system and costs $5 or $10 per person.

FYIW, I drive from Burlington to Butner from Dove season until January and it takes about 40 - 45 minutes depending on how bad construction is on 85 in Durham.

we found a place that the ducks fly at by the hundreds less than an hour and a half from raleigh. the amount of ducks rivals hunting on the coast. other than your duckstamp its free hunting. ill give you details on it if you call and want em. unfirtunatly im gonna miss most of this years season but ill do a little first and maybe you can do some hunting with my friends when im gone.
