Is everyone ok after the storms last night? Not much happened in Mebane - a little over an inch of rain and some wind but it was pretty mild. I saw on the news this morning that a portion of Thomasville & some other areas in Davidson county got hit pretty hard. Just checking around. Hope everyone is safe.

Rock Hill has three confirmed deaths. They haven't released names yet but Ive heard from my people out that way.

No actual tornadoes that i know of yet here in my immediate vicinity, couldnt really see etc, but they were tracking several rotations coming out of mooresville heading up thru this way. We did get hammered pretty good tho, still raining like a monsoon. My dogs have a couple foot deep holes that are overflowing, yards flooded, fields flooded etc. Im about to go ride down the road and check on the creek/bridge. Hope everyones ok

All good here, but my brother sent a vid he took of a twister touching down and going past in Chester SC. Missed them though thank God.

Yea just some rain around me. But know down in Davidson county a guy I know his parents lost their house last night. So prayers are sent to them.

Some of our friends houses took bad damage, demolished some of my neighbors houses.

wow, didnt know any of this happened. All we got was a little light rain up here.

Isn't it late in the year to have storms like this?

Thanks man. Also just heard that the third man killed was a guy my wife worked for a few years back. He was the owner of Cortney Electric in Rock Hill. Great guy. Wow, just goes to show how ya just never know when it might be your time.

Yeah, Steve was a good man.
Ive known him for a long time, and my wife is friends with his daughter. Daughter and grand dauhter were staying with him, and the story seems to be that he was shielding his family when he died.

It is tough on the family, Steve's dad just passed in the last month.

That video was surreal w the sunset in the background and the ribbon of the twister streaking by. Tornadoes in the dark or at night are very frightening to me. In the outbreak earlier this year, one came 1/4 mi. from our house. I've never taken shelter in 46 yrs. living in N.C. but My wife and I and the dogs sought shelter in the bathroom in the center of our modest home that afternoon. It was a very tense 5 mins. as the thing roared by. All we could hear in the bathroom was the very loud sounds of the extremely heavy rain and limbs, sticks and debris falling on the roof, the loud bomblike sounds of the thunder and the dogs pitifull whineing. We saw the warning on the local news 15 mins. before, and minutes later it got dark as 9pm, at 3 in the afternoon! the wind that gusted constantly all that day went slack calm just before we ran for cover. I've never seen anything like it. The rapid darkness sent a feeling of impending doom through I and my wife. The thing was fast too, the thunder went boom,....Boom... BOOM,....BOOM!!,....louder each time w no rumbleing at all, It was like a giant Stomping towards us and then moving away, BOOM! .... Boom, ... boom ......I wish the best for all the victims and survivers of this storm, and feel sorrow for the deceased and their friends and family.
