Wife made a mistake and O.D. ed my favorite cat on flea medicine made for a large dog. Not good. I took sleepy meds for a cold when she decided it was gonna be an emergency. Coffee and a snow drive to Winston.

Sorry to hear it brother. Hope your little buddy is ok and y'all be safe on the road.

They decided to keep her and fill her up with some stuff to bind the bad meds and relax her muscles from seizures.
Made it home no problems. The roads have a good granulated texture. Its gonna turn to real bad once the scrappers finish glazing it all over to a nice sheet of dangerous iceFB_IMG_1769396070445.jpg
Little Russian when I rescued her.

Helping me wind down.

Warmed up just enough that sleet/freezing rain took over about 9pm. Pretty well petered out about 1am. Power went out at 2:30am. Got up and got the genny fired. Ran a cord to the pump house and got all the fridge and freezers plugged in. Was going to patch into the gas pack but the wife said don’t worry about it until later (hoping the power comes back on). Sitting in the parking lot at work now. With as many line trucks I saw coming into town Friday I doubt power will be out too long.

Main roads here are slush and not too terrible to drive on. All the side roads are still solid ice though. And a lady txt me last night asking if I was coming to cut her mother's trees this morning lol. I guess they haven't been outside or have windows in their house.

Also spotted some Mexicans pulling out a huge stump with a skidder. Perfect day for that I guess lol.

It was slush here last night around 9. This am, solid ice.
We live at the end of a 1/2 mile road with about 300' elevation gain. To say the least, it's a bit steep.
We're gonna be closed today and probably tomorrow. No reason for delivery trucks to come in and I'm surely not sending ours out.

I mean if I had a log skidder like that, everyday would be the perfect day to play with it

I just went out to the paved road. it's all clear, but a lot of water pooled or running across.

I have to make it to Chapel Hill tomorrow, but hopefully it will do some thawing with traffic on it by the time I leave mid-morning.

40 to Winston from Mocksvegas is mostly dry. The run off and shady spots will be the issue tomorrow in the AM.

I've been working almost non stop since early yesterday morning. Got a few hours of sleep last night and then back out around 4 am. Got my facilities taken care of and made my property managers very happy and even pressure washed equipment when I got home! Property manager called and wanted me to do a different building and said it wasn't much but I know the building and I didn't have 6 more hours in me. Now I get to listen to water running in all my faucets tonight due to 14 degree low.

Calling for 7* here and wind chills at -2*. Definitely a.bit concerned about pipes as well

18 here this am. That is cold for this area of SC. Supposed to be cold all week. Now they calling for snow Saturday and Sunday.

Oatmeal the rescue cat is gonna live. Better. Most expensive cat I have ever kept.
Mild seizures for two days but without the midnight vet run and a big dent in the wallet she'd be dead and waiting for the ground to thaw out.
