I just got a Stihl FS56 weedwacker, uses 0.095 line. I have almost 1000 ft of cheapo 0.080 and 200ft of Husqvarna 0.080. Will the 080 even work?

mine has been opened up to accept .105" string, I've been using Oregon "Gator Wire" and has done pretty decent, still breaks, but lasts much longer than anything else I've tried feeding it. Currently on a roll of .105" Ace Hardware COmmercial grade string, and it's doing pretty well, I still go thru a full spool ( or more ) per tank of fuel but I have 400' of chain link fence to cut around ( double that as that is inside the yard and outside the yard )

I had a Lowes/Home Depot Homelite that served me well for about 10 years. After a while, I started having issues with the string advance, I thoght due to the head being worn down. I spotted a neighbor tossing a similar one out in the trash, so I grabbed it. Swapping the string heads out got me a few more years out of it, but the advance was still quirky. I even tried at least 3 differnet types of string. The motor started cutting out and refusing to start after it got hot, so I stopped weed whacking...that was a bout 5 years ago :lol:
Wife has threatened to buy me one for birthday/fathers day/Christmas, but I told her I probably wouldnt use it.

^that post was 3 years ago, if my math is correct, its been about 8 years since I weedwacked. Guess what my wife talked my folks into getting me for fathers day :cool:
