weight difference

anyone know the weight difference between a 304 and a 4 speed and a 4.o and a 5 speed? would this be enough of a difference to need an add a leaf on the front springs to support the 304 or is this no biggie? thanks in advance guys

There is a difference in weight if you have an older cj might be okay but a newer model yj etc, I would repack springs if not they could sag about an 1" or two.

I'm not a fan of add-a-leaf kits. Frequently they are thick stiff springs. I'd buy a set of used CJ/YJ spring packs or what ever rig you have, and pull one of the leafs from them and stick them in your packs if you end up needing a higher spring rate due to the motor swap.
