So I bought a car from a new car dealer that was two years old last year for work. I got a letter from the DMV 3 months ago stating issues: " The dealer never has submitted the original title or ANY paperwork, but they issued a title to my lender, as dealers can e-file this mess, and it was caught in an audit" . I have been working with the DMV theft and dealer compliance officer since about a month after the letter. It has been a few weeks and almost a year since I purchased the car, and the title is still blocked from resale, and it is time for it to be sold off. Yes, I have made all payments and contacted Ford and let them know what is going on.
Is this a new thing? Will I end up having to get lawyers involved? Who has played this game before?
I don't need the car and want the payment off me and have a buyer lined up, but this is an issue I am willing to let it go back to the dealer for full price paid.
