welded 8.8

does any one know somebody that can weld the spider gears really good for a ford 8.8 that lives in or near raleigh? a bunch of rigs are heading up to harlan,ky at the end of may and i need to get it welded for the trip
 
Be sure to weld the tubes to the centersection too. Speaking from experience, they will twist on you.
 
i've had the spider gears welded before and i actually only busted the welds on the spider gears not the carrier. i just want to get a cheap locker in there for the trip. do you think a 4.0 liter has enough power to twist the tubes on an 8.8?

Same engine that took mine out. Don't get me wrong though, I beat on that 8.8 for about 2 years before I had any problems. 37" mtrs, 4.1 t case, and 4k rpms on a step up finally got the best of it.
 
thanks for all the info. I found someone in cary that will weld a carrier if anyone ever needs....hamilton machine. So we'll see how it holds up.
