I want to build a surf cart, but Im not sure my welder can fuse aluminum. Its a basic hobart flux core wire welder. It plugs into a standard outlet. I was hoping I could just change the wire out to aluminum wire, but Im concerned it wont produce enough heat to weld aluminum. Im wanting to weld 1/8" thick aluminum. Can I do it with my welder?

Have you ever welded aluminum? It's not something you just jump into and weld, it takes much more practice than steel, and the aluminum has to be CLEANNNNNN. Also you will need gas and a spool gun as the aluminum wire is too soft and would not feed through the wire feed from the welder itself properly.

I've never welded aluminum, I've only read about. And since my wire welder does not use gas I guess you are telling me I can't weld aluminum?

Some have had success. You'd need a teflon liner, 100% argon preferably, composite feed rollers with very light pressure, some acetone, and a dedicated stainless wire brush. It will work but prepare to get frustrated, with the 10ft lead I'm assuming your welder has you need to keep it as straight as possible.

Nevermind I see now that it has no gas solenoid.
