Ive never had to buy my own gas before
I tried calling northern tool but they were useless
I need two tanks, in the 120cuft variety each. One 100% Argon, the other typical C25 for Mig
Im in asheville. Anyone can point me in the right direction?

THanks!

Check Marketplace for used tanks. You can trade them in and only have to pay for the gas usually. That’s how I got both of mine. Buying a new tank is pretty expensive. If you find an old torch set they will trade the oxygen bottle for any high pressure cylinder, but they won’t trade the low pressure acetylene bottle for a high pressure.

Honestly after being in the same situation I think Amazon is where its at now. You can order cheaper than anywhere else and the tanks have great reviews.

Thats if you can't find it on facebook for an exchange.

Never (or pretty close to it) would I have thought shipping a cylinder of gas would be cheaper than local.

OTOH, could likely write a book with potential fawk-ups by jungle critters/the shippers Cretans that could poo-poo the perceived savings

That was my first thought, then I remembered all the gas trucks I see running around shipping (delivering) gas to local businesses. Wonder if Amazon subs it out? Seems like a smart move.
Nope. Mine was delivered by FedEx and shipped from NJ.

Here in Pixley, the local gas supplier (15miles/25mins away) is an old country store w/ decades old wood floors (and a couple of "little old lady's" working the grill/deli counter) that pricewise, are 15-20% LESS than anywhere I can drive 45 mins (Mayberry/Martinsville)-1.5 hours (W-S/GSO/Christiansburg)
