Hey all, I need some welding help in Charlotte.
I have a 97 TJ that was getting a new RC 6'' X-Series lift (I know! I'm sorry, it was the only one I could afford). Welp, Houston has a problem!

1. Weld lower control arm brackets to the axle. After taking everything apart, I noticed one was beyond saving and needed to be replaced. So, I'm going to replace them both.

2. I botched the installation of my front Track Bar relocation bracket. You're supposed to drill wholes STRAIGHT through the frame, install crush proof sleeves, and bolt the damn thing down. Welp, I didn't straight and had to bore the wholes out. Now, I'm EFFED! Here's the plan for the fix;
a. Weld the crush proof sleeves inside the frame
b. Weld the bracket to the frame in addition.

I have a Lincoln "Buzzbox" AC225 Stick Welder and I'm horrible at welding. I have rods, but I'm not 100% sure of the amperage or proper rod, even after researching online.

I'll supply the beer and some cash for your troubles! Honestly, I don't have a ton of money to spend on getting this stuff welded- hence the request for help. Everything I've been quoted has been astronomical and I'd really like to get her back on the road.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

I'm right in the same area. I can't do it tonight but I could swing by tomorrow after work. Do you have 220 power? If so I will just bring my own welder.

That would be awesome! I do have 220. If you're more comfortable with yours (Stick?), I'm good with that too! Just let me know what you need and I can have it ready for you.

Thanks JC. I like having favors to call on when I'm in need. I figure if I do what I can when I can they will come back to me in my time of need.

Buy a different track bar that doesn't use the junk rough country bracket. Then put the sleeves through the wallowed out holes and install bolts with big washers. The holes are past where anything important bolts to the frame anyway.
