Welding Lessons....

This needs to be more organized. I need for sure numbers or the class will be a mess. Do you guys all use Facebook? I know I'm already friends with many of you but if I'm not and you want to attend or would like to attend one in the future please send me a friend request so I can do an invite.
My name on Facebook is Chris at MarsFab

What is the cost and how long of a class is it?

Im interested as well just need some details.
It will be a 2 hour class. Sunday the 8th at 1pm. I will have cards cut in various thicknesses of plate as well as tubing notched ready to weld in real world positions. This specific class will pretty much focus on MIG welding. If there's a specific position or type joint you have trouble with we can work on that as well.

It's pretty laid back. Everyone will get to weld

It's not a big deal. I've got a Facebook event setup and now have a head count so far of 4 for sure coming. One more or less won't make too much difference. I just can't expect 5 and only get 2 or vice versa. I'm honing to do another class immediately following the 1:00 one for someone else. So we'll promptly start at one to keep from running over at 3:00 so everyone try to be there around 12:45 if you can or it'll just cut into your time.

Thanks for coming out today. I hope you all had a good experience.

We ended up with quite a few more folks than usual. I was really worried about that making for a lot of down time for everybody but I feel like it went pretty well. Hope we can do it again soon!

Yea I would recommend this to anyone. From a newb like me to someone that has been welding for a while. I'll be there again.
It also made me appreciate the high costs of fab work. Chris made tube work look easy, mine looked more like a monkey with a torch.

I was mediocre at best before I went to Chris's class. I was able to do this before the end of the class. Chris is a great teacher. If you are on the fence when the next class comes around, DO IT!!!!

Cool I'm glad somebody took pictures.

For you guys who just have access to a 110v outlet and can't use a 220v machine. That weld was made by a Lincoln weld pack 100 using .030 flux core wire. The tube is 1.5" .120 wall and the gusset plate is .25" thick and I'm confident that it has more than enough penetration on these pieces.

You just have to know what to look for. I wouldn't necessarily recommend guys go out here and assemble quarter inch brackets with one if you aren't confident in your abilities but with a little direction and some pointers on what to look for in the weld puddle it is definitely possible.
