Went to ZMAX today

Man what an awesome dragstrip. The nitro cars were doing over 300 mph and would shake your innards as they went by. Bruton Smith did a great job designing the track. Not a bad seat anywhere.

I went on Friday and it is really a nice track. The cars were fast for the 1,000' mark. I wish they were still running the full 1/4 mile and at top speed.

It would be nice to see two stops a year for NHRA at ZMAX.

Yea, the 1/4 mile is no longer the 1/4 mile. They're trying to bring the speeds down.

They have slowed to Top Fuel Funny Cars and Top Fuel Dragsters down by only running to the 1,000 ft mark. It was put into effect after the death of Scott Kalitta. Its only to be temporaly reduced but it may end up being from now on such as the restrictor plate racing in NASCAR.

I was out there yesterday. Had a great time. I went to Bristol a couple years ago and I think ZMAX blows it out of the water.

I went to Zmax today it was a blast even if you dont like drag racin you at least need to go once.
