Western NC Wheeling

I go to Western Carolina University and I am looking for a place that I can take my truck. Not anything to crazy but I am relatively new to the the 4x4 world. Just wanted to know where you guys would recommend going around here.
 
You're close to one of the only trails we have around here, Hurricane Creek. It off 40west about three miles down from the rest area ,at the Harmon Den exit sign get on the shoulder of the road and turn behind the gaurd rail the trails marked hurricane creek rd ,its a mild trail about six miles to the top of the mountain . It's nice fun ride but take someone with you that knows their way through first time you go.
 
You should get hooked up with us in Appalachian 4x4. We are based out of Canton, NC. A bunch of the guys in the club are noobs and ride that trail alot. I live on campus at wcu so if your interested we can meet up and you can come to our meeting next Tuesday.
