i know this is a rather subjective topic...but i'm looking for input to help make this choice.

i sold my 34x9.5's tonight...and am gonna go back down to a 33x10.5 or 33x12.5.

i don't drive my jeep much at all....i have a honda fit i daily (30min each way to work) but when i go shoot i drive the jeep...that involves 1hr 15min each way to the range....i'd drive the fit but there's a creek crossing. The way is up 90 to 421...so it's ALL 50mph++

I want to drive it to URE, Mtn. City, Brown Mtn., The Farm, DPG...etc...but i wanna be able to do some stuff when i get there.

I was looking at KM2's....but have heard mixed reviews and they're rather expensive. I've had bf at's on a lot of vehicles and they're awesome..but i'm looking for a little bit more aggressive. Looking to keep it cheaper than KM2's or MTR's...was suggested some Eldorado MTZ's today..and they look pretty good.

so...
1. which size, and more importantly...why that size
33x12.5
33x10.5

2. which tire?!?

3. 15x8 or 15x10

have you checked to see whats available in 33x10.50? cause youre going to be much more limited if you decide on that tire size rather than 33x12.50.
the eldorado mtz's look like a decent tire. i'd personally go with 15x8 rim size on the 12.50 width tire

i think it would depend on the footprint you want... if its not that big of a deal to save "2inches" then why not the 1050's (would think that would help with gas mileage a little since its less tire). I personally like the winston winner mt's that i ran on my jeep for a couple years (think theyre discontinued though) but you could maybe find some used.

If you're not afraid to drop a little dough, it's hard to beat the Firestone Destination MT. One of my favorites for a weekend wheeler tire. Aggressive as hell, clean well, and do well in a lot of conditions.

i'm thinking that i'm going 15x8 with 33x12.5 mud claws or eldorado mtz

unless i can get someone to pricematch tirerack, in which case i'm going 33x10.5 KM2's....$159/each ain't too bad

another cheap option is maxxis buckshot mudders. i had in the 33 12.50 flavor on my yota and loved em. they wore extremely well and did good in mud, okayish on rocks. are you in the taylors valley as in the one in damasacus? if so RPM Offroad in bristol TN should price match. they always told me they beat competitors prices, and always have

I just bought some new 33's about a month ago. I was looking at the KM2's but apparently they are on back order for a month or so. I ended up buying some Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ's. They were a little pricey but have been performing well. They're quiet on the road and do good offroad. I've been to Uwharrie and drove to Mt City and wheeled since I purchased them.

I like my KM2's on everything but wet rock, not sure what excells on wet rock, but its not these. I'm probably pushing 15-20k miles on them and they're still relatively quiet on the road. I've got 33x10.50, which I picked for a non-lifted, non-trimmed Toyota.

I'm running a 15x8 with a mud star m/t . I drive 122 miles to work and back home and they have done great on the wear. When i go offroad i drop the air from 33psi to 20psi and they do a great job when they wear out i'll buy another set.

well i stopped by Rides last night and bought (4) 33x12.5x15 Eldorado MTZ's....he's done a few sets and everyone seems to like them...so I got those and had him order me (4) 15x8 black steel wheels....hope to have em on and be running Thursday. Now i gotta get a SYE and 8.25 rear with a locker
