I have a commercial landscape business and i always run Nitto terra Grappler tires or BF Goodwrench. I hear so many opinions on this subject but which do you guys prefer? I am trying to get more input on which types to buy. I push snow with with three trucks and they have Nittos. They seem to be good tires and we do alot of pulling and they seem to do ok, on the other hand i have talked to people that have wear problems out of them. I have to buy some coming up in a month for the new year to come and i am kind of shopping around.

I prefer a BFG myself.

The duratracs are good tires for what you're looking for, but expensive. I will always personally be a fan of bf(goodrich) AT's though. They work pretty well on light snow and ice.

I had BFG AT's on my 01 Dodge Ram 2500 CTD, and they didn't last as long as I thought they should have. I think they were down to the wear bars after 25,000-28,000 miles IIRC. The truck is stock, and I don't hot rod around in it burning rubber.

I've got Nitto Terra Grapplers on the truck now, but I only drive the truck about once every two weeks, so haven't been able to form an opinion about them yet.

I have the Nittos on my jeep in the avatar and have had them for a couple of years. Mine are wearing good and even, no excessive wear, low noise, do EXCELLENT in the snow (but also my jeep weighs about 5k lbs). Offroad they do great except for mud of course. I haven't had the BFG AT but I like my Nittos so good, I doubt I'll try a BFG AT.

I'm in the same boat with my DD wrangler. I've gone through 2 sets of Dunlop mt's and gotten 52 and 56 thousand miles out of the sets. I'm kind of wanting to back up and go to one of the "aggressive" all terrains that have come out. The Goodyears look good and the Kelly's look damn good to me right now but I'm concerned about their longjevity.I had a set of mtr's one time that didn't make 40 thousand so I'm worried about these 2 being the same way since Goodyear makes Kelly. I hate spendin alot of money and not being satisfied. The Dunlop mt's are good tires and I'll buy another set if I can't get my feelings assured allthough I'm ready for a smoother and quieter ride that the "aggressive" all terrains might give.

I've only had the BFGs on my Silverado since I did the SAS back in February. I have yet to get it aligned or rotate them, as badly as they need it. However, they've worn as well as I could expect anything to..... especially after I built the 6.0. They're 315/70-17s and the truck is fairly heft I'd imagine. They're real quiet though and for my $225 investment in them, they've been great.

I have no idea if I'll go back to them or not. I kinda want something more aggressive.

I ran BFG A/T's on my old TJ. I hated those things. They were fine for the most part, but get them into any mud and you were screwed. They bog up with the mud so bad they become almost useless. It was hard to even get enough wheelspin to clear them when that happened. The BFG's also were terrible for hydroplaning in the rain. They were decent in snow though.

Im currently running Firestone Destination A/T's on my XJ. They aren't as aggressive as the BFG's were, but they work well off road, and do decently in the mud. They also aren't nearly as bad in the rain, and do just as good as the BFG's in snow, if not better. Plus they were cheaper. If you check out tirerack.com, the Firestone A/Ts are currently listed at first in their category, while the BFG A/T's are now down to 8th.

Only downside to the Firestone A/T's is that they seem to be wearing a bit quicker than the BFG's, but not by much.

I've ran alot of at's on my ctd, bfg,Michelin, nitto, etc. The pro comp E-rated xtreme at is by far the best wearing tire i've had in the 10.5 yrs I've owned the truck. Its actually pretty aggressive as well, it does great offroad.

Yep, they're 60k. I like those myself, got two buddies that run them now. Might have to see if they make them in a 315...hmmm

I like my Pro comp extreme ats. I have over 70k miles on them and still have life left. That's on my Wrangler.

I just sold a set last week and ive always loved them but they SUCK when its the least bit slick. Customer tried to return them lol

I've never had an issue with them being hard to stick in the snow/rain/ice? Have they changed the compound recently? My last set of BFG AT KO's are 5 years old and still look new with 30K on them. They are on my part time DD XJ.

To be honest I'm not sure. I can say that every other vehicle we had that day had no issue making it up a slight hill at the shop. This was a 2500hd in 4 dig, hit 2 inches of snow and would sit and spin, while a 2500 dodge with maxis big horns cruised right by. Im sure weight distribution etc etc would effect the outcome. Im just saying the customer expected more.

A lot of the way a tire wears and rides depends on vehicle size and weight, plus tire pressure. I've had and do have nitto trail grapplers and although I loved them on my avalanche I dont like them so much on the jku. Bfg at have never been a favorite of mine on an ifs vehicle but I like them on straight alxe.

Im a huge fan of the general grabber at2's for performance out of an an at. If your going for permance and long half you flat out cant beat a cooper tire.

Toyo open country at2 .. I'm in the tire business and I run these on my personal vehicle.. 50k warranty - 10 ply and ride great.
