No wife, but taking mom out for dinner somewhere really nice. Regardless of what day it is, I never turn down a chance to show my appreciation for how well she raised me.
I was just informed by my wife that she wanted some baseboard I ripped out put back up for mothers day....or some shelving system in her closet. I'll probably get her a gift certificate for a massage somewhere too . I think the 20ish kindergarten kids she has to be a mother too take a toll her....
I was planning on building my wife a bench that she wants for the hallway that leads to the garage. I'm not a wood worker, so that project is moving along very slowly and will now be her birthday present instead of a Mother's Day present. In place of the bench, she is going to get a cast iron dinner bell that she also wants. I ordered it a week ago and it should arrive today or tomorrow. I need to go buy a 4x4x8 treated pole to mount it on. I will probably get my mother a hanging flower basket.
We are having my parents over, my wife's parents, and my wife's sisters family over to our house for Mothers Day. I will be cooking steaks on the grill.
Here is a picture of what the bell looks like that I will be putting up:
My wife brought home a cat without my concurrence and against what I wanted. I guess I'll wait until Sunday to forgive her and let that be her present.
I was just reminded this morning that mother's day is this Sunday, so hopefully I can still make a reservation somewhere for Sunday for the wife and mom.
