What are your favorite East Coast wheelin spots?

Gulches is a good place and Im sure those folks could use the $$$ and publicity. For me Harlan KY is hard to beat due to location(to me) and the variety of riding there.

I checked the forum. Maybe not well enough........

Where can I find more info on the park/area/trails?

Sign up and PM mgmorrison, he is our club president. He can give you all the info you need.

This is a Jefferson National Forest trail. Its roughly 12 miles across with some nice rock crawling, scenic views and some great primitive camping along the trail. Front/rear recovery, skid protection, 33's and at least one locker is recommended. All vehicles must be tagged and insured as this is a public road!

If taking your time it will take all day to traverse the trail.

Gultches or the flats. Both have tough spots and are close enough that i can make a day trip

Harlan won me over back in August. Some of the most beautiful country I've seen. The trails go for miles and miles and its really something you don't want to miss if your out this way. Everything to wheel from stock rigs to wild straight up climbs for a buggy.

Rausch Creek, PA takes my top vote. The rock there is very sticky and there are some very cool trails. We've been going about once a year for the past 4-5 years. The new Ivy Branch trail system near Charleston, WV is also pretty nice. Harlan, KY would also be in my top three.

I'm gonna have to get busy this year. This thread has got me in the mood for some wheelin'!

I may hit Coal Creek Superbowl Weekend. I've never been there before.

We usually go to Harlan once or twivce a year. Next trip is planned for Memorial Day weekend.

We should work on a NC4x4 trip to Harlan. It would be good to put some faces with some screen names!

If your looking for some fun wheeling get up with the guys at the flats and work something out. It would be a private ride for just your crew unless you wanted it to be open invite. Cool place to wheel with plenty of challenge. Check it out. Mountain city was one of my favorite spots but like most good spots its now shut down. Someone really needs to lease the land there and reopen it. Coal creek is really nice also.

Not too many spots to wheel on the beach once you leave Fla. so be sure and hit the outer banks in NC. Lots of rules these days, but still a place where nature is awe inspiring. Amongst the choices, if you like to rough it a bit, is the South Core Banks where you have to get there by vehicle ferry and bring enough water, fuel, food, etc. to take care of yourself.
.
Enjoy your trip!

Funny Jason. The "west coast guys" will be on the road for a month solid. Easter Jeep safari in Moab, straight through to Jeep Beach and then this East Coast Tour. So they'll get Moab on the front side.
