What Backspacing?

I got an 85 toyota that I am fixing to do ruf and 63's on. Planning on running a 37x13.5x15. What would be a good backspacing for the wheels. The ones I was looking at are 15x8 (procomp steel wheels) come in 2.5, 3.25, 3.75, 4.0, 4.5 . I am planning on doing a weld on beadlock later if that would change anything. I was thinking 3.75 . Does this sound like a good backspacing? Any other foreseeable problems with that setup?
Thanks for the help
Matt

I'm running 4" backspacing on mine with 2" lift and 15x10 with weld on beadlocks and 36x12.5r15 TSL's
I'd say go with 2.5 or 3.25 for you, since you're going to be on 15x8's, its going to bulge your tires out more, but when you get the beadlocks it will pull them out more and shouldn't be a problem.
3.25 is stock if I remember correctly

Im not stuck on the 15x8 if 15x10 would be better but I assumed that the 15x8 would help hold the bead better. I thought there was a thread a week or so ago and they said something along those lines.

stock is atleast 4.25. the less the number, the more they stick out

Yota on rocks, You're correct that 15x8's will keep a bead better, but when you go to beadlocks it will not matter.
The problem with the tire bulging in a 15x18 with 4 inch backspacing is that the bulge is on both sides, and this bulge is what hits your inner fenders and springs when you turn them full lock.
I took some pictures with mine with a quarter for you to show how little bulge there is. with the 15x10's and weld on beadlocks(pretty much a 15x11):

That quarter is sitting on the beadlock ring, so I have what? an inch of bulge max.

This is how they look from the side, you can see they don't bow out like you see a lot of boggers do with small width tires and big meats.

4" backspacing Also Too close to the stock steering arm to use wheel weights.

I did it like this to keep from stressing my steering system, the farther out your tire the more stress is on your birfs and trunion bearings/everything else in your knuckle.

And to yoder 519, stock for 2nd/3rd gen 4runners may be 4.25 but I promise you 85's dont have 4.25 backspacing seeing as it wouldn't even mount up if it was 4.25.

There's always wheels spacers :driver:

yea thats probably what ill have to end up doin. ok im don hijackin this guys thread:)

i would say go with 3.25 or 2.5... the extra width will make it feel alot more stable on the trails... also go with 15x8, they will help hold the bead better, even with beadlocks, you have an inner bead that you need to hold...

Yeah thats what I was thinking that with the 15x8 is that the inner bead would hold alot better than with the 15x10. I know it will bulge some but I'd rather have a little bulge then a tire off the bead. Thanks for the pictures by the way man. So I think I'll go 2.5 then

just wanted to update the thread with something I just found out. My wheels finally came in (9week wait from 4wp:flipoff:). I ended up getting the 2.5 bs procomp wheels. They are a reverse center wheel and wont work with the diy beadlocks so Im sending them back for the 3.75. It suck but I guess ill just get spacers or and probably run ifs hubs upfront if needed

That sucks...but if you would have ordered them from Will @ 4wp Charlotte, he would have told you when you ordered them..IF you told him you were making beadlocks.
