Need to order a timing belt water pump kit for my '08 Honda Accord V6 from Rock Auto. there's quiet the range of prices and brands.

From my experience with the wheel bearing, the brand made a huge difference. I don't want to repeat that damn experience.

Anyone have experience with what brand is safest/best quality & value to go with:

Aisin
Dayco
DNJ
Gates
Airtex
AC Delco
Continental
Contitech

Prices range from $130 to $330 for the timing belt, tensioner, water pump kit.

gates.

Gates timing belt kit without the pump. Aisin pump.

I think the Honda OEM pump is Aisin, or maybe that's Toyota or Nissan that uses OEM pumps from Aisin. Can't remember, but regardless they're better than the Gates pumps and great quality. Aisin comes with a gasket that is indistinguishable from OEM, Gates is sometimes different.
It seems that the Gates pumps in the kits are often not the same as the pumps Gates makes for OEMs, maybe to save some money.

OEM works too. You'll probably need to get OEM valve cover gasket and spark plug tube seals if the valve cover needs to come off on that engine, and some Honda Bond or equivalent for the gasket corners.

Check for a discount code BTW. I know the one from Pirate I used a couple weeks ago was about to expire...

Dayco is what we use on these.

Those are good brands too, I usually chose whoever makes OEM parts for that particular brand. Of that list at Rock Auto, Gates and Aisin are the only ones I remember as Honda OEM suppliers for those parts. Very safe bet for fit and quality. They don't carry Keihin, Bando, Nippon, Denso, etc.

I have used the DNJ gasket kits on my 4runner and 00 Honda with good results.
I would opt for the Aisin water pump over DNJ, but that's just my OEM Toyota bias coming out.

They are probably made in one or two different factory's around the world dayco is oem on a Ferrari but I bet gates cross reference part number is made at the same plant in Europe. Just like if I buy a jeep v belt by dayco it's probably made at gates plant in U.S.

Gates, Aisin, Dayco are all good reputable brands. I'm a Dayco guy. Dayco makes GM OE belts and most other OE belts. Dayco been in belt business for a long time. Aisin is the Oe on Honda water pumps for certain, not sure on the belt.
I've used Dnj gaskets on a couple Nissan's, look and have survived as well as feel pro(my pick).

I only know that on a Toyota I had, 3 different shops, that gave me quote for Clutch replacement [FWD], said they would only use OME parts. The Labor cost was the biggest worry!
Then I got a timing belt, & with the water pump being "internal", shop did the same thing; OME. Those internal & labor intensive parts, you want to last Forever!

Not only do you want them to last, consider warranty if the belt/idler/pump fail new.... Most TB engines are interference. That's not something I want to eat... Warranty is important. Of course if you are doing work yourself(hobby, side enterprise, and not for a living), you are pretty well s.o.l. on labor and consequential damages. Same if you supply parts to a shop.. they were your parts.
