This is under my rug on my covered porch up next to my house. There is a line all the way left to right. What did it?

Maybe the bee bored all the way they from the bottom?

Remember that this carries on for 12' along where the covered porch attaches to the house covered in carpet. It's also screened in and underpinned where bees can't get in or under. There is a line of it all the way left to right. Keep those thoughts coming. Not trying to be a know it all, insert Fuller, but I just cannot see how it could be carpenter bees.

I 2nd the bee comment, those little buggers that look like bumblebees can and will bore their way through anything

It's hard to tell from the pics, but it appears similar to the damage we had from carpenter ants. I never actually saw the bastards, just the pile of shavings they left behind. Ended up spraying Ortho Home Defense a couple times & didn't have any more issues :D

Looks like the work of ants.

I had carpenter ants get in my boat twice. They'd be under the floor, & seemed to want to carry their wood out side of the boat [which I don't understand]. Their trail looked very similar to yours.

Home Depot sells Amdro ant bait, it’s sweet so they take it home and kill the nest. It works if it ends up being ants.
It’s just odd cause the only bug I know that eats treated wood is a carpenter bee.
