Putting in a 208 with an adapter tonight and was wondering what the consinces was on sealing them together? Do I need gaskets? Or just use RTV? The old gasket is still on there should I keep what's left of it? Or scrape clean? Any help would be MUCH appreciative for I'd HATE to do this job again.

Oh yea, the adapter is seperated so if a seal kit is needed, do I need 2 different kits to get the front and rear of the adapter? And if a kit is needed, any idea what it's called?

Thanks again!

I just cleaned the surfaces real good removing any high spots etc and used a lot of standard silcone sealer. No problems with leakage, even with the clocking ring in between them.

rtv sealant and make sure all of the old gasket is scraped off.

U don't need sealer if u have a seal in the trans and in the case. I have a 208 in mine with a clocking ring no sealer, no leak.

So you used a seal of some sorts? Please elaborate? Rubber? Gasket? Do you know it's name?

Thanks.
