man what a good time. Had to fight Fed. for sat. mornings assault on Ft.Harrison. You wanna talk about some tall ramparts to climb.

At first i was wondering what they were going to do with the shovels...... then I seen, It would suck to bring a shovel to a musket fight!!

we didn't have the luxury of building ladders.I was in the bottom of the trench with my arms stretched up,with one of my comrades standing in the palms of my hands and he still couldn't reach the summit.That would have been way over 15 feet. I climbed through a gun emplacement and helped pull others up and through to keep the push on the Confederates going.
