Pull a 17' Renken, haul a family of 4, and get decent gas mileage?
80s model 4runner?
XJ?
Extended cab Nissan or Toyota Pickup
(2wd or 4x4)?
Pathfinder?

What is your price range?
A Late model Full size Blazer Bronco may fit the bill well...

deff not the 4runner, the xj would probably pull the best but you aren't going to get great mileage, so if I had to shoot for both I would say the pathfinder.

XJ hands down.... you will get decent mileage if you drive it like you have some since...

unloaded.. around 18-20 maybe higher, loaded about 15-16

My wife drives an 01 Yukon (tahoe) 3 rows sits 7 will tow what you want and gets 17-20... Less when towing of course.

The 3rd row is strictly for kids, the burbs have plenty of room though

Before I sold my Ranger 619VS I made two trips to Florida pulling it and got 12-14mpg on both. Ive also pulled my K5 and 18ft trailer with it, mpg there drops in the 8-10 range above 55

that was my thought...otherwise I need to find a full size bronco...
They should have plenty of interior room for 4...
Won't the top come off of those?

OK...
I am up to 2 even swap options...
1989 Suburban 4x4 and a 1990/91 Bronco 302 V8 Auto...

What do you guys think?
I'm thinking that as nice as 3 rows of seating goes, the Bronco will give me better service...it has a rebuilt motor with 30,000 miles on it.

FEEDBACK PLEASE!!!!

the suburban also has a 350..
all that needs to be said right there:huggy:

Kinda my thought...
has a 4 something posi rear end too...

Seriously...which do you think would be more reliable?
I have to get a compressor to get the A/C in the bronco to work...maybe, and I know that the motor on the back window is going bad...
Otherwise, I know that there's only 30K on the motor...

The suburban...I know it has a 350, and i know that the transmission is rebuilt and has 12K on it. It is riding on 31" tires, and needs a new windshield, and 2 side windows are broken and he is going to fix them when it gets warm. He's also going to charge the A/C and see if all is good with it. That said...what does everyone think??

I truly value everyone's opinion

well you will have a lot more room in the suburban..those things are huge..

either one of them will tow your boat your talking about...

what are the prices on them>?

i personally would go with the suburban because of room...

but thats just my .02..

ok...
89 Chevy vs 90/91 Ford
any opinion on reliability?
Which gets the better gas mileage?
I'm thinking 12MPG in the bronco...

hayhayhay
thanks for being the 1 person contributiong here...

yeah...no problem..

well the bronco might get a little bit better on gas...probably not even enough to make you change your mind..mainly because the suburban is heavier...

as you can tell..i am a little biased on chevrolet

I have an 1989 Suburban, with the TBI 350,and it tows my lowboy, and camper ,just fine, and has seating for 8 people,I love mine:driver:

why are you worried about mpgs?

no matter what you get, if you are wanting to haul 6 people and tow a boat, its going to suck gas.

The Burban hands down...The 89-92 broncs had a lot of trouble if I recall with front end parts.

Those old burbans actually make some pretty nice cruisers...
